Saucony Tempus 2 running shoes

Most running shoe brands now have stability running shoes, and some brands even have several stable models. But there are few brands that offer lighteight stability running shoes for fast. The Saucony Tempus 2 running shoe is one such shoe. It is lightweight and dynamic, so it supports faster runs and also provides a stable foot position over longer distances. The 2nd iteration has only changed the upper, but that’s good news as the previous version was very well made and became a favourite stable running shoe for many.

As I mentioned in the introduction, the upper of the Saucony Tempus 2 running shoe has changed the most, although this wasn’t a problem with the first version. The upper is made of a mesh material which has good breathability. The midsole folds over the upper, forming a sidewall that keeps the foot stable. The tongue is medium padded and fixed on both sides. As is usual with stable running shoes, the heel collar of the Saucony Tempus 2 is stiff at the bottom to keep the foot well supported. In the previous version, this stiff heel collar, with its medium padding, caused problems for some people, rubbing the Achilles tendon, the Tempus 2 has a little more padding. Compared to the previous version, the upper is slightly narrower, which is bad news for runners with wider feet, but good news for those with medium to narrow feet, as the narrowing has improved the fit.

Saucony Tempus 2 midsole

The Saucony Tempus 2 running shoe midsole is made up of 2 different foams. For stability, the slightly stiffer PWRRUN foam provides more support on the medial side of the foot. For dynamics, the more advanced Peba foam, PWRRUN PB, is used. PWRRUN foam is a lighter, more dynamic and softer foam that allows for a faster pace. The midfoot is both stable and fast with these two foams. It also performs well over longer, marathon distances. In addition to the harder PWRRUN foam, the width of the midsole wider for good stability. The wider than average midfoot geometry provides much better support in both directions.

Saucony Tempus 2 outsole

The Saucony Tempus 2 Running Shoe Outsole is made from a rubber compound called XT 900. This rubber compound is a harder, carbonised rubber. Because it is harder, it has very good wear resistance. The durability of the outsole is further enhanced by the fact that it is 3mm thick, which is slightly thicker than average. The pattern of the outsole is designed to provide good grip despite the harder rubber, allowing for faster running.
