The ASICS Fuji Lite 6 trail running shoes are lightweight with a low midsole and high ground feel. They are intended for runners looking for stability on light or moderately technical trails up to 15-20 km. Due to the low midsole, there is limited shock absorption. There is no rock plate in the sole, and the upper lacks strong protective layers. These features keep the weight low, which has many advantages. If you can appreciate and accept this, it is worth choosing these shoes. While not specifically designed for beginners, they will be suitable for your first short runs if you are just starting out with trail running. Because they are lightweight, they can also be a good choice for hiking and walking.

Description

ASICS Fuji Lite 6 upper

ASICS Fuji Lite 6 trail running shoes upperThe ASICS Fuji Lite 6 trail running shoe upper is made of a thin, lightweight mesh material, unlike other trail running shoes. The breathable upper dries quickly, which is necessary since it is not waterproof. There are few extra layers on the shoe to provide protection or prevent water from entering; minimal toe protection is provided at the front of the shoe. The tongue is unusually thin for a trail running shoe but wide enough to protect against debris. A rubber strap on the tongue allows you to hide the laces so they won’t get caught on protruding branches. The heel collar is padded and stiff to provide good support for the foot. The upper is true to size and moderately wide, and the front is wide and forgiving. The inner sole is removable for easy replacement. The laces are wide and strong. The lace holes are serrated and the laces are attached to the upper with a cord that runs around them. This method effectively and securely lock the foot in place.

ASICS Fuji Lite 6 midsole

ASICS Fuji Lite 6 trail running shoe midsoleI am particularly happy about the ASICS Fuji Lite 6 trail running shoe’s midsole, which takes an old-fashioned, classic approach. Although it is 2 mm higher than the previous version, the midsole is still lower than average. It is made entirely of FlyteFoam Blast Plus Eco foam, a balanced foam that is not too soft or too stiff. With a midsole height of 30/34 mm, the shoe provides great ground feel, good stability, light but effective shock absorption, and moderate dynamism. This does not mean that you cannot run fast in these shoes; rather, it is because the shoes are very light. Due to the lower midsole, the shoes are not suitable for longer runs. However, they provide sufficient shock absorption for up to 15 kilometers or a half marathon. The wide platform provides good stability despite the low midsole.

ASICS Fuji Lite 6 outsole

ASICS Fuji Lite 6 trail running shoes outsoleThe ASICS Fuji Lite 6 trail running shoe outsole is made of ASICSGRIP, a medium-hard rubber compound with above-average wear resistance. The outsole covers the entire midsole with minor cutouts. Since the shoe has no rock plate, full outsole coverage is necessary. The outsole has 4-mm-deep rubber lugs that provide good traction on easy and moderately technical terrain but limited traction on difficult, technical, deep, muddy, and rocky terrain.
