Description
The Adidas Supernova Stride running shoe is the lightest, most affordable and simplest running shoe in the new Adidas Supernova line. The line consists of four members:
- The comfortable Supernova Rise
- The stable Supernova Solution
- The lighter, more affordable Supernova Stride
- The premium Supernova Prima
The Supernova Series is a range of everyday comfortable running shoes. The Stride is the lightest, most affordable version, giving you the comfort typical of Supernova running shoes, but the midsole isn’t all Dreamstrike+ foam, so it’s a little stiffer.
Adidas Supernova Stride upper
The upper of the Adidas Supernova Stride running shoe is made of a double mesh material. Its breathability is average, which means your feet may feel warm on hot days or at the gym. The heel collar is moderately stiff and padded, but not sandwiched with mesh like the Supernova Rise running shoe (which is good because it absorbs less moisture). The tongue is also padded and comfortable. The upper is a bit oversized, so it’s not worth buying a larger size, as is recommended for many running shoes.
Adidas Supernova Stride midsole
Unlike the rest of the Supernova line (Rise, Solution, Prima), the Adidas Supernova Stride Running Shoe Midsole is made up of two different foams. The bottom layer is a slightly stiffer foam, but on top, on the forefoot, there is also Drimestrike+ foam, which is lighter, softer and more dynamic. In the Adidas Supernova Stride running shoe, the Support Rod System is replaced by a fork-like end in the EVA foam. The midsole geometry is different from the Supernova Rise, with less rocker geometry, less flex in the front of the shoe so the transition is not as fast, and the heel is asymmetrical for increased stability. With the 10mm drop, this midsole structure has become a moderately dynamic midsole with good stability and high shock absorption, which can be great for beginners, but also suitable for advanced runners for their everyday runs.
Adidas Supernova Stride Outsole
The Adidas Supernova Stride Running Shoe Outsole is made from the same Adiwear rubber compound as the rest of the series. The outsole covers a large area of the midsole for improved traction. The outsole pattern is similar (identical?) to the outsole of the rest of the series. The deep ribs in the outsole are noticeable for good traction.
