Overall, the Saucony Triumph 22 running shoe has changed a lot from the previous version, but it remains a comfortable, highly cushioned everyday running shoe for longer distances. The upper is comfortable, heavily cushioned and provides good support for the foot. The midsole has been given a softer, more dynamic foam, which Saucony also uses in the Endorphin series. The midsole has also been made wider and slightly stiffer to keep it stable. The outsole also has good wear resistance and grip. If you’re looking for an everyday running shoe that offers maximum comfort for longer distances, the Saucony Triumph 22 could be a good choice.

Description

While the Saucony Triumph 22 running shoe has changed a lot from the previous version, it still retains its character, a comfortable, maximally cushioned, premium everyday running shoe that can be worn for longer distances. Its comfortable upper, soft but dynamic midsole and abrasion-resistant outsole make it a running shoe that’s more fun to run longer distances in. The upper has been changed, with a completely new foam midsole, which was previously only available on the higher performance Endorphin series.

Saucony Triumph 22 upper

Saucony Triumph 22 running shoe upper

The upper of the Saucony Triumph 22 running shoe is clearly all about comfort, made from heavily cushioned premium materials. Despite the thicker and more comfortable materials used, the breathability of the shoe has not been compromised. The tongue is heavily cushioned, fixed and very comfortable. The tongue is slightly long, but soft at the end and therefore it is easy to bend the shoe on the foot. The heel collar is stiff but very cushioned, so it can hold the foot comfortably and securely. The upper design is less curved, more of a cylindrical straight shape, but can accommodate any foot width.

Saucony Triumph 22 midsole

Saucony Triumph 22 Running Shoe Midsole

The midsole of the Saucony Triumph 22 running shoe has changed in every way from the previous version. Made with new foam and different geometry, the running experience has changed, becoming softer, more flexible and dynamic. The midsole of the Saucony Triumph 22 is made from the same PWRRUN PB foam (previously made from PWRRUN+ foam) used in the Endorphin Pro 4 and Endorphin Speed 4 running shoes. The PWRRUN PB foam is softer, more dynamic and lighter than its predecessor, making the running experience in the Triumph 22 running shoes more dynamic and even more comfortable. Because this foam is softer, it would be less stable, so the geometry of the Triumph 22 midsole has also changed. It became wider and less curved, so the stability of the shoe was not compromised, but the lighter and equally high foam did not allow for weight reduction. Because it is wider, it has a larger outsole and is slightly stiffer than its predecessor, but not too stiff. For those of you who already have experience with the Triumph wall and will be running the new Triumph 22 id, be prepared for this shoe to be softer and more dynamic.

Saucony Triumph 22 Outsole

Saucony Triumph 22 running shoe outsole

The outsole of the Saucony Triumph 22 running shoe is made from Saucony’s XT900 carbonized rubber compound (as before). The outsole is wider than in previous versions because the midsole itself is wider, The wider outsole makes the shoe more stable and the grip of the shoe has improved, although this hasn’t been a problem before. The hardness of the rubber compound is average, as is the thickness, but the wear resistance is above average.
