Overall, a lot has changed with the Nike Winflo 11 running shoe compared to the previous version. Better let the upper’s breathability, but it still remains comfortable and highly cushioned. The midsole is more flexible and softer, and the outsole has good grip. If you’re looking for a comfortable, good value for money running shoe for half marathons at most and don’t mind a slightly heavy shoe, the Winflo 11 could be a good choice.
Description
The Nike Winflo 11 running shoe is one of Nike’s entry-level, low-cost running shoes with a good price/performance ratio. Compared to the technologies used in the running shoe and the running experience the shoe delivers, the Winflo 11 is priced low. The Winflo is best suited for 5-15 km runs, with a comfortable upper and comfortable midsole. Because of its more moderate energy dissipation and high weight, it is not as supportive for fast or longer runs, but this also depends on the runner’s musculature and fitness. If you don’t do longer runs and find the Nike Pegasus running shoes too expensive, but want to stick with the Nike brand, the Winflo 11 could be a good choice for you.
Nike Winflo 11 upper
The upper of the Nike Winflo 11 running shoe is made from a thin mesh material that has good breathability. The upper is heavily cushioned, very comfortable. The tongue of the shoe is thick, padded and fixed on both sides so it doesn’t slip sideways. The heel collar is rigid and padded, keeping the ankle secure and comfortable. The upper of the shoe is clearly all about comfort, less about performance, which is a well thought out strategy given the shoe’s target audience. The upper is also comfortable for runners with wide feet, as it has a wider design. The midsole leans on the upper (which makes the midsole look taller but in fact the upper leans 7-8mm on the upper), keeping the cable stable.
Nike Winflo 11 midfoot
The Nike Winflo 11 running shoe midsole is a Chuslon 3. 0 foam This foam has a high shock absorption, tending to be on the harder side, but the Winflo also has a full-sole Nike Air unit in the foam, making the midsole soft overall. Because it’s soft overall, you can run less fast-paced in it, and the lower energy return can make your feet fatigue faster on longer runs because of it, but if you’re going for a comfortable 10-15km run, the Winflo 11 midsole will support that.
Nike Winflo 11 Outsole
The outsole of the Nike Winflo 11 running shoe has changed significantly from the previous version. The previous longitudinal articulation has been replaced by a cross articulation, giving the shoe better flexibility. Unlike the previous version, the entire outsole has a waffle pattern. As the outsole almost covers the entire midsole, it provides better traction and also slightly stiffens the otherwise very soft midsole.
