New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 Running Shoes
8.2/10 (Expert Score)The New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 running shoes are highly cushioned and comfortable. They are designed primarily for low-intensity and longer runs. They are a good choice for recovery runs if you like shoes with softer soles and low-intensity running helps you recover (not for everyone). They are also an excellent choice for beginner runners who want maximum comfort during their first runs. They can also be a good choice for all-day wear and walking if you usually find shoes with soft midsoles comfortable. However, I prefer running shoes with harder soles for recovery, walking, or all-day wear and standing.
Description
New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 upper
The Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 running shoe upper is made of thick, soft, flexible mesh that remains breathable despite its thickness. The entire upper is designed for comfort, featuring a highly cushioned tongue fixed on both sides. The highly cushioned and reinforced heel collar provides comfort and good foot support without being too stiff. The upper is true to size, and its above-average flexibility makes it comfortable for wider feet. However, a wider version is also available.
New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 midsole
The New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 running shoe’s midsole is made of FreshFoam, a soft EVA foam. It is slightly soft and springy, so its energy return is slightly below average. Despite its large size, the high midsole provides excellent shock absorption and flexibility, but not high torsional flexibility. The midsole is all about comfort, just like the upper. It is wider than average at the heel and front for stability. While the shoe’s stability is not high, it is not bad considering the midsole is higher than average. The More v6 midsole is clearly designed for lower-intensity runs. Neither its energy return nor its weight promotes faster running.
New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 outsole
The New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 running shoe outsole does not cover the entire midsole. Its coverage is similar to that of a racing shoe, but it is thicker and more durable. It is made of a moderately soft rubber compound that provides excellent wear resistance and traction. The large, cross-shaped cutout in the middle allows the thick midsole to retain flexibility while reducing torsional flexibility.
