Description
The Speedcross line has been around since 2006, making it one of the oldest and best-selling off-road running shoes from Salomon. It’s a solid, durable model for fast training and racing on the roughest trails. It’s strong on both comfort and protection, and thankfully hasn’t lost any of its best qualities, with rubber studs still protruding aggressively from the sole for fantastic traction on the roughest terrain.
Then buy the Salomon Speedcross 6 trail running shoe if you need a rugged shoe for soft, wet, steep, technical terrain and you’re looking for plenty of traction and protection. It’s the ideal shoe if you like to run fast or run distances over 30km. There’s a lot to like about them, provided you don’t have wide feet. If you have wide feet, don’t buy the Speedcross 6 (get the Salomon Mascross instead). Also, we don’t recommend it for those who want a trail running shoe with high stability or a softer sole.
The biggest innovation of the Speedcross 6 compared to its predecessor is that it has lost a significant 22 grams of weight, making it even faster.
The upper is made from soft mesh, and there’s plenty of internal cushioning. The material dries quickly and has good breathability. The tongue does not slip, the upper grips the foot well and securely. The closed neck protects against debris ingress.
With the high sole, the Speedcross 6 may have lost a little stability.
