Description

Saucony Hurricane 25 upper

Saucony Hurricane 25 running shoe upperThe upper of the Saucony Hurricane 25 running shoe is made of a flexible mesh material that is slightly less breathable than average. It fits true to size, is moderately wide and hugs the midfoot tightly. If you have wide feet, consider choosing the wide version. The wide, thick tongue is secured on both sides. The heavily padded and strongly reinforced heel collar provides excellent comfort and stable foot support. The midsole foam extends to the upper for even greater stability. The inner sole is removable in case you want to replace it.

Saucony Hurricane 25 midsole

Saucony Hurricane 25 running shoe midsoleThe Saucony Hurricane 25 running shoe has a midsole made of two different types of foam. The upper PWRRUN PB foam is lightweight and soft. Located on top, it provides a very comfortable feel when you step into the shoe. The lower PWRRUN foam is slightly harder, making the midsole more stable. These foams are not evenly distributed throughout the midsole, but rather asymmetrically, with the harder PWRRUN foam positioned higher on the inside and the softer foam dominating on the outside. As the front part of the midsole is made of the softer, more dynamic PWRRUN PB foam, the shoe is comfortable at the heel and has good dynamics at the front. Overall, the midsole is softer and more comfortable than those of other stable running shoes, but compared to neutral shoes, it is harder than average to maintain stability. You can feel the internal support, but it’s not intrusive; it simply prevents your foot from rolling inwards if you have a pronated foot. The wider-than-average midsole also increases the shoe’s stability. The wider sole, the midsole that curves up towards the upper and the asymmetrical use of the two different types of foam are all part of Saucony’s CenterPath technology, which is also found in Saucony Guide running shoes.

Saucony Hurricane 25 outsole

Saucony Hurricane 25 running shoe outsoleThe outsole of the Saucony Hurricane 25 running shoe is made from an XT-900 rubber compound, a type of carbonised blown rubber. Thanks to the carbonisation process, the rubber is harder than average and therefore highly resistant to wear. Saucony enhances the grip of this rubber by adding deep grooves that provide excellent traction on dry surfaces. It provides excellent grip on dry surfaces and good grip on wet surfaces. The segmented outsole features a longitudinal cutout that reduces torsional stiffness, and a transverse segment that makes it easier to bend while running.
